Emacs: Add Key to Info mode

By Xah Lee. Date: . Last updated: .

emacs info mode uses key l for visiting to previous page viewed. [see Emacs: View Info Page]

5 Buttons Mouse, Set Backward Thumb Buttons for Info

Alt+x describe-key, then press the mouse button. Emacs might say:

<mouse-8> … undefined

② add the following in your info key function given above.

(defun xah-add-key-to-Info-mode ()
  "Add keybinding to `Info-mode'.
URL `http://xahlee.info/emacs/emacs/emacs_adding_browser_keys.html'
Version 2020-09-01"
  (when (string-equal system-type "darwin") ; macOS
    (local-set-key (kbd "s-[") 'Info-history-back)))

(add-hook 'Info-mode-hook 'xah-add-key-to-Info-mode)

I recommend a mouse with 5 or more buttons, because the extra buttons let you do lots of things without moving hand back to the keyboard.
