​LOL! Taxes. Yeah, this is the first year in a while when I didn't owe the Fed IRS a ton of money. I didn't sell anything last year, so I also got a bit back from the Feds.

​I did play with the "native compiled" Emacs. On most hardware Emacs is "fast enough" so the test I used was running M-x eww on pages that used to be slow from HTML parsing. Saw nice improvements there

​But today -- as you say -- I just reverted back to the default pre-built binary from my distribution. Just for ease of use and updates. Getting too old to worry about DLL versions and such...

​@Dion Bridger yes, it's a build option in Emacs 28 beta. I think I'd only attempt it on Linux at the moment.

​Xah, I did play with Emacs Evil mode this past weekend. Back around 1989 I knew Bill Joy's original vi (not vim) inside-out, but switched to Emacs ~1992. My son is still a daily xah-fly-keys user. 👍
