Rename JavaScript to JS (2024)

ON COMPUTING TERMINOLOGY, JavaScript.
- I think JavaScript should now be called just JS, or JS language, js lang, jslang.
- This is better, because it avoids the confusing tie with the Java language.
- They share the prefix Java for pure marketing purposes, back in 1995.
- The languages Java and JavaScript has nothing in common.
- Also, JavaScript is a trademark, originally by Sun Microsystems now Oracle.
- They no longer have control of the technology for a decade or more.
- More confusingly, the actual technical name for JavaScript is called ECMAScript or ECMA-262, by Ecma International.
